Phlebotomy Technician Course Description This course will provide training in Phlebotomy and help students develop the skill to assist a healthcare team in the accurate, safe, and reliable collection and transportation of specimens for clinical laboratory analyses. Laboratory specimens are used for three (3) important purposes: Prerequisites A high school diploma or its equivalency and a CPR certification (at least one healthcare certification course) are required. EKG Technician Course Description This program involves the study of the principles of basic electrocardiography that prepares the technician to perform non-invasive cardiac testing procedures in a healthcare setting under supervision. It includes basic anatomy and physiology with emphasis on the cardiovascular and respiratory system, as well as interpretation of basic life-threatening arrhythmias. It will teach the student to perform diagnostic procedures at the request of the physician to evaluate and diagnose patients with cardiac disease.
