Message From The 2008 PN Class Valedictorian – Malgorzata Cyran
We are all gathered here today on this very important and joyful occasion, the day that has been the goal for all of us, both the instructors and the students – Graduation Day! My deepest and heartfelt thanks and appreciation go to the wonderful and fabulous Mrs. Jenita Julian and Mrs. Kimberly Hollowell. You have been a great help and inspiration to all of us. If it had not been for you, we would not be here today.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

My thanks and appreciation goes to the faculty, our great instructors. I want to thank you for your knowledge that you shared with us, for your patience and absolute determination to make us good nurses. Thank you so much for your support that you have given us throughput the time we have all been together.

I also would like to extend my sincere thanks to all my classmates. Thank you to all my classmates, especially to a dear friend of mine, Malgorzata Giza. The time we spent together has not only been a chance to help and support each other in reaching our goal but also a chance to find a real friend in the years to come. I also want to express my appreciation and gratitude for all especially when things were tough and you went out of your way to give a helping hand us to adjust to requirements of our studies.

And last but not least, my sincere and heartfelt feelings of appreciation, thanks and love go to my family, my dearest husband, my mom and day, and my son. Thank you for your great help. Thank you for your understanding and for being part of my studies every step of the way. Thank you, I love you all dearly.

It is a great day today to be here with our goals reached. Thanks to Northwestern Institute of Health and technology, a great dream of mine came true. I have always dreamt to become a nurse, to be able to help those in need. And this day has come today, a dream that has become a reality.

Message from the 2007 LPN Class President, Violeta Pasinos, LPN, Class 2007
I am very proud to be an alumna of the Northwestern Institute of Health and Technology! In its young years of academic history, to me it proved to be a great learning institution. Without the glitz of big-name schools, NWIHT proved capable to providing solidly-structured, no-nonsense personalized education. Its nurturing environment, wonderful leaders and staff made learning such a joy. Its leadership encouraged and supported rapport, team spirit and camaraderie which resulted in a closely-knit student community that’s highly conducive to the common academic pursuit.

I first learned about NWIHT in a casual conversation at the hospital where I have been working for seventeen (17) years. I have always wanted to be a licensed nurse here in the U,S, and the right time came for me to go for it, I visited the school and casually interviewed the President and some staff members. My initial skepticism was immediately and comfortably put to rest, and I enrolled. To make the long story short, the Florence Nightingale spirit captivated my heart and NWIHT definitely helped me attain my goal! – VIOLETA PASINOS, LPN, Class 2007

OTHER TESTIMONIALS
If you are tired of being included in the other schools’ long waiting lists of students who want to hit the road towards nursing, then NWIHT is for you.

I would know this first hand coming from a community college myself. As an anxious nursing student trying to get into this field as fast as I can, being told you will be put on the waiting list is something you really don’t want to hear. As we all know, time is an entity we cannot get back.

When I stumbled upon NWIHT, I was skeptical at first. Among the questions I asked were: will I be able to learn anything here? Is this school for real?
Is it accredited? How long is the LPN program? All of these questions were answered when I got into the program.

NWIHT focuses on everything a nurse must know, eliminating unnecessary pre-requisites any other college will require you to take prior to admission into the LPN program. Also, the program is really short, only 14 quick months. And in the short time that you spend at NWIHT, competent teachers manage to teach you all a nurse has to learn, and because of their extensive experience in the field, they provide many tips useful in the real world of healthcare.

Finally, not only will you be able to get your nursing education here, you will not find in any other school the kind of staff and faculty whose personnel are warm-hearted and approachable, as they maintain a professional disposition and a caring attitude towards all students.

So, if you are contemplating on entering the nursing profession, you should definitely check out NWIHT. It is worth your time. And studying here is definitely worth your investment. By: GILBERT CABAONG, LPN Student Class 2009

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the teachers of the Northwestern Institute of Health and Technology, Practical Nursing Program especially Ms. Aurora C. Villamil, Ms. C. Wilson, and Ms. Medy Newman. They are truly special people and are making a lasting difference in our lives and I am sure in our future careers. Not only do they diligently present their class material, but also go above and beyond what a teacher is required to do,

They find a personal approach to every student and find time after their required teaching hours to help us achieve our individual educational goals. They are not only our teachers, but also true friends that share their knowledge and skills with true love and compassion. I know that these are very short lines, but words cannot fully explain the level of my gratitude. By: DAVID JARQUIN, LPN Student Class 2008

I thought long and hard where I was going to school. Coming to this country few years ago, I knew I wanted to be a nurse, but one who came from a school that I believe in. When I interviewed at first, although I thought it went well, it left me hesitant and a bit scared… “Am I really going to go through with this? Can I really do this?”

Today, I feel empowered only by my own hard work, and a circle of good classmates’ support, and incredible faculty that surrounds my every move. Whenever I’ve been down, my teachers, especially Mrs. Hollowell, Ms. Villamil and Ms. Lugo have helped me overcome my obstacles.

I am now steps away from graduation (“hopefully”) and I feel extremely confident in my education here. I believe in this institution strongly and I hope everyone who becomes a part of it, with worries and all, will have an amazing experience as mine. By: MARK GOLEC, LPN Student Class 2008

Starting Licensed Practical Nursing at NWIHT has been a whole new experience for me. I remember during the orientation how I was filled with so much joy on my admission. On the other hand, I was anxious, thinking about the responsibility that lies ahead of me for the next 14 months.

Gradually, I began to find my bearing with the help of wonderful teachers who have so much passion for teaching, and would explain, and give extra time to make sure I understand the topic.

The clinical hours opened my eyes to a whole new world of what is to come in the future in my career as a nurse, learning that I always had to professional even the most little of all things while giving care, knowing nothing is to be taken for granted while in the unit.

The fourth batch is what I would call a “melting pot”, people from different races, cultural beliefs, coming together as a team, all aiming for the same goal.

One thing I’ve learnt is the importance of “team work,” having supportive classmates whoa re always ready to help, not only in academics, but also in personal things. I’ve grown so attached to everybody, and as days roll into weeks, and weeks into months, I’m beginning to think of when it will be time to say goodbye. By: FOLASADE ADEBAYO, LPN Student Class 2008
